Cordova High students put their mark on the Chugach National Forest Plan Revision by sharing the ways they like to use the forest with USFS and Alaska Geographic staff. Students were asked about the things they like to do both indoors and out – predictably, sleeping and eating where high on the indoor list, and jumping into rivers and lakes was popular as an outdoor activity. Students also described their ideal forest – many wanting to leave their favorite places natural while identifying low-impact OHV trails for recreation. The USFS will incorporate their thoughts and ideas into future plans for the forest.
