The Chugach Children’s Forest recently hosted a joyous end-of-year gathering to celebrate another year of successful youth programming! Program participants, friends, families, partners, and community supporters convened at the Alaska Zoo to enjoy refreshments and view photos and videos that captured the excitement of the stewardship expeditions and other outdoor adventures that the youth participated in. Many youth spoke in front of the audience, telling stories of their journeys into Alaska’s beautiful wild places with the Chugach Children’s Forest. Furthermore, participants celebrated their participation in events around the 2015 Capitol Christmas Tree, which came from the Chugach National Forest.
The Chugach Children’s Forest also thanked the many partners who made these programs possible including: Prince William Sound Regional Citizen’s Advisory Council, REI Anchorage, Chugach School District, Anchorage School District, Copper River Watershed Forum, Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies, Prince William Sound Resource Advisory Committee, Babkin Charters, Lazy Otter Charters, Student Conservation Association, ASD King Career Center, Anchorage Parks and Recreation, Anchorage Parks Foundation, Youth Employment in Parks, Story Works AK, Alaska Humanities Forum, Rasmuson Foundation, KEEN Effect, National Environmental Education Foundation, ConocoPhillips, Major Marine Tours, Premier Alaska Tours, NOLS Alaska, Spirit of Youth, and more!
