In support of next spring’s (2013) Wetlands Live broadcast from the Copper River Delta on the Chugach National Forest, the Chugach Children’s Forest is hosting a media competition open to all Alaskan schools and youth organizations participating in wetland and watershed stewardship projects. Winner will be selected for “Crowd Favorites” and “Best Message” – each will win $1000 in field trip support, video equipment and/or supplies. Plus, your video could be featured on the Wetlands Live international online broadcast! Videos will be judged on creativity, content, and effectiveness of stewardship message. Submissions are due March 31st, 2013 and should be 3-4 minutes in length. Voting begins on the Chugach Children’s Facebook page on April 1st! Potential topics include: classroom research on wetlands issues, field studies on water, bird or fish monitoring, cleanup efforts, invasive species removal or restoration projects. To register for the contest or for more information, contact Sarah Warnock at swarnock <@> alaskageographic.org or (907)-771-8467
